Braces are a specific treatment that needs to be prescribed by an orthodontist or a dentist. Any brace is a specific treatment to as specific individual and a thorough assessment of the position of the teeth currently and where they need to move to is always required.
Normally photographs, moulds and x-rays of the teeth are taken and then a review meeting with your dentist or orthodontist is made in order to go through your case and to help you understand the planning that is required.
Clear braces are a great alternative to normal train track braces. Clear braces come in two forms, they are either completely removable such as clear aligners – one of their biggest brands being Invisalign; or there are white ceramic or porcelain braces that can be glued to the front of your teeth using clear elastic and white wires to align the teeth.
The ceramic white brackets are not removable and cannot be taken out by the patient. Not everybody is suitable for removable clear braces or white braces and the cost can vary quite a lot.
The cost does depend on the type of braces you use but also the length of time that they are required for and also if and also if any other treatment is required like the removal of any teeth.
Prices for clear aligners such as Invisalign start from £1650.00. This would include your retainers after your braces which is a hidden wire behind the teeth and also a clear removable nigh time retainer. This type of treatment is usually used for minor corrections of the front 6 teeth.
Ceramic or porcelain white braces start from £1650.00 for upper or lower braces and again this would include your retainers for the upper or lower teeth and tooth whitening is always included as standard at Birchgrove Dental Practice.
Prices can increase up to £2400.00 for top and bottom braces and we do understand that this is a considerable financial investment. We do have various options and payment plans to help spread the cost of your dental treatment at Birchgrove Dental Practice. For example we can spread the cost over anything from 12 months to 48 months.
At Birchgrove Dental Practice we provide a complimentary consultation with the dentist which would include a chat about what exactly a patient would like from the treatment. The dentist would take photos of the teeth to provide a detailed insight as to what could potentially be done. He will also be able to provide a non obligation quote and provide all finance options available at the practice.
